Presto 02811 12-Cup Stainless Steel Coffeemaker

presto 12 cup stainless steel coffeemaker, (What's this?) this is a good coffeemaker and i would recommend it to anyone.it was bought at a good price and was received in quick time...
Presto Coffeemaker, (What's this?) I remember years ago having coffee at my mom's. It was the best tasting coffee. Now
with this coffee maker I get the best tasting coffee.
Better than pressed coffee., (What's this?) This was my first experience with having a percolator, and I have to say that I'm rather impressed! I've been a coffee drinker for a long time, and have been hooked on French Pressed coffee. I will say that I think the coffee made in this device is much better. It seems like it takes just slightly longer than pressed coffee, but there's no time keeping involved and it yields a better product. Cleaning is easy, it keeps the coffee piping hot as long as it's plugged in, and it was great with a big group of people.
A Truly Wonderful Product, (What's this?) I've used this percolator for over a month now and I have to say I'm truly happy with it.

Pros
-It makes wonderful tasting coffee. I researched whether or not to get a percolator, a drip maker, or a french press. The drip coffee makers got outstanding reviews, and so many people trashed the percolator saying it drains all the flavor from the coffee and over-boils it. I found this to be a total falsehood, at least according to my tastes. This percolator doesn't continuously wash the coffee grounds. However I do open it once the indicator light comes on and take the grounds out and leave just the coffee in the pot because I like to clean the parts immediately. Coffee brewed in this percolator is rich and delicious.

-Fast brewing. This pot brews coffee very fast and very, very, very hot.

-Easy to clean. By cleaning the pieces immediately after use with hot, soapy water, I've been able to keep it looking like new.

-Coffee residue doesn't built up and end up souring your coffee from use over time. Every drip coffee maker I've owned has had this problem. After awhile your coffee brews up completely foul, but that hasn't happened with this pot, and I don't believe it ever will. It's too easy to keep clean of all residue.

-The design is just lovely. It's classical and elegant.
Poor quality control on Amazons part., (The rating of this review reflects Amazon not the quality of the coffeemaker.)

I received a broken product.

The bottom plastic had a 2 inch chunk broken out of it.

The Amazon packing looked totally fine. It is clear to me that Amazon failed to inspect the item before packing it. I am sure that if they had opened up the package before packing it in Amazon packaging they would have seen the break.

In addition the manufactures packaging looked old, like it was past overstock.

Finally the package was delayed multiple times. I had to wait about 2 weeks for a package that I expected to recive in a few days.

I am very disappointed in Amazon.
one our hard water can't destroy!!, (What's this?) We have hard city water and every coffee maker we would get (Bunn, Cuisanart, etc) would last 6 months at the VERY most before I was deliming it every week to no avail.
We love percolated coffee while camping so it only made sense to us to go with a percolator for the home. Less parts to get gummed up with crud. And it makes a great cup of coffee, very fast.
We have had this percolator for about 5 months and i really like it. Its easy to clean, and it hasn't gummed up on me yet.
A few helpful hints....get the correct grind of coffee. Too fine and you get grounds outside the basket, too large and you get weak coffee. Make sure you seat the post into the hole in the bottom of pot or you get hot water instead of coffee ( hubby and i have each done this once....) we also use a percolator filter paper in our basket. If you don't know what they look like, they are little circles with a hole punched out for the post and they fit perfectly in the bottom of the basket. also with this pot when you put the basket and post in the pot of water it sits up a bit out of the pot. But there is a spring on the post that positions it after you put the lid on. (That baffled me for a moment when i tried it out for the first time...)
The price on the pot is great, $40 is very reasonable. Try it.
To Perc or not to Perc, (What's this?) Since drip coffee makers have dominated for so long, I wondered how I'd like going back to the old tried and true, percolater system.
Simply good coffee, Solidly constructed and easy to use. Makes coffee fast. No plastic brewing parts to leach chemicals into the coffee. Very happy with it.
12 Cup Perc, (What's this?) Be aware that the product makes a little noise.... It is, after all, a percolator! Works great! Easy to use. Works as intended. Good product.
not completely stainless steel, The inside of this pot is not completely stainless steel. The place where the coffee/tea leaves go is not stainless steel and looks like aluminum. Also the center groove at the bottom inside of the pot is not stainless steel. Looks like aluminum.

I use this for herbal teas as well as black teas and coffee. The pot works well. The only downside is that is not 100% stainless steel.

This coffee maker brews up to twelve cups of coffee at a cup-a-minute rate, which it then keeps at a constant, piping-hot serving temperature. An indicator light in the base announces when the coffee is ready. The inner fixtures--the filter basket and perk tube--are also made of stainless steel, rather than the more common (and less durable) aluminum. The power cord is removable to make storage simple. Before cleaning the coffee maker, unplug the unit and allow it to cool completely. Wash the coffee maker with warm, sudsy water and dry it thoroughly; it is not immersible. To preserve the gloss of the stainless steel, do not use steel wool or harsh, abrasive cleansers. The perk spout and filter basket can be cleaned with a brush or pipe cleaner. If necessary, coffee stain remover can be used periodically on the interior surface. The coffee maker measures 10 by 5 by 13 inches (including handle, lid, and spout). Presto guarantees this product with a one-year limited warranty. A simple instruction sheet is enclosed. --Garland Withers One of the most comforting sounds in the world is the bubbling of a coffee percolator at work. And then comes the toasty aroma--it makes for a perfect morning. Percolators have come back to home kitchens, and the Presto 12-cup stainless steel coffee maker is a prime example. Its elegant, hotel-style design brings a touch of luxury to what is for many a daily pleasure.
