Decent machine for blade grinder, but watch out for flimsy plastic, (What's this?) For what this is and its price, it has a lot going for it. If you are a real coffee aficionado, you should probably move on to a much higher priced burr grinder or the like.
Great Cheap Coffee Grinder, (What's this?) I've owned an identical grinder for two years now, which has served me well in grinding coffee beans for a drip maker as well as for espresso and is still going strong. I grind for the drip maker twice and week, and less often for the espresso maker. The coarseness dial works well, and the number of cups setting also helps with grinding various quantities (ensuring that all beans are ground by the time it finishes). I bought another recently for the purpose of grinding spices (chile peppers) for chili, and it worked admirably for that task as well.
No Fuss - Easy Clean, I like that the bottom pulls down so you can adjust the cord length. I've owned mine for three years. Easy to use: add beans, adjust settings, push button. Tada! You can make your coffee now.

This grinder is for the beans, (What's this?) Prompt delivery, nice looking on counter,good price, Quality construction, powerfull, quiet, easy to clean, automatic selection of bean types with auto stop.
ok, but lid breaks too easily, I got one of these a few years ago; as far as spin-type coffee grinders go it was as good as any grinder I'd had for grind consistency, and it was fast and easy to use. It did poorly with small amounts of coffee, as do all of these kind of grinders, but for a daily pot it was fine.
The issue I had with it was the lid - about 2 months after I got it I tipped it over on the counter (a minor bump) and the tiny little tab of plastic holding the lid down broke. Thereafter I had to hold the lid to engage the safety mechanism while it was grinding, irritating but it still worked.
If you take a close look at the tab in question you'll realize it's not so much a matter of *if* it will break, but *when* - it's a tiny thing, with no reinforcement attempted. Simply making the lid a half millimeter thicker in the tab area would have prevented the problem; it's poor engineering.
I tried to contact Hamilton-Beach to purchase a replacement but got a computerized reply asking for the model number (which I had already supplied); I replied to this but got no further emails from them.

I checked Amazon and was able to find this reasonably priced coffee grinder they could take with them. This way they can grind their coffee fresh and not have to settle for anything but the best. It is well designed,compact, sturdy enough to travel and my daughter said their coffee tasted even better than the coffee they get at home.It has 3 speeds and can grind coffee from coarse to fine to suit your taste.
Very good grinder for little money, (What's this?) This is great, does exactly what it's supposed to do. Very happy with the simplicity of operation and clean up is a breeze. The price was within my budget and although not top of the line, could not be happier. As usual, delivery fantastic and well ahead of time.
grinds cofee while you do other things, (What's this?) I have had 2 other Hamilton Beach coffee grinders and they worked well but didn't hold up well. So far this one does the job well and has held up . I have only had the product for 2 months though. Takes a while to get used to how the cord is put away.
