KitchenAid 14-Cup Glass Carafe Coffee Maker, Contour Silver

Ditch Keurig, go for KITCHENAID!!!!, (What's this?) Having received the much touted Keurig, I was amazed at how wonderful my Kitchenaid coffeemaker was. The Keurig, aside from being monstrously expensive as far as the cost of designer coffee (remember how cheap Barbie dolls are, but the clothes alone can bankrupt you?), tasted like styrofoam - even after rinsing several times, and multiple cups of coffee. The Keurig coffees I found to be in no league with my Kitchenaid coffeemaker, which makes wonderful coffee (no hint of styrofoam) and does not leak like the Keurig maker did from cup one.
KitchenAid 101, (What's this?) Got this to replace my old KitchenAid that simply wore out. This one is more updated and very easy to use. Like the fact that you can remove the water chamber from the pot to fill or leave it attached. Easy to program and follow the instructions. Daily care is important in my book. Not time consuming or hard to do. Coffee has a great taste and two settings to choose from. Audiles are loud enough to hear and programming is easy. Instructions are well written. Have to say we are very pleased with the product.
Great Coffee but..., (What's this?) Love, love, love the coffee this coffee maker makes. Supposedly the carafe is dishwasher safe, but it isn't; after a few washings mine began to leak at the seam. Amazon replaced the whole coffee maker...
Getting a Replacement, (What's this?)
Do not purchase, The rim has leaked from day one. We thought that we had made a wise choice because of the brand, however, the product is not well made and it is not user friendly.

Buyer beware.
Can I EVER forgive KitchenAid? I don't think so., (What's this?) I have had this "thing" for a while now and can't say enough bad things about it. Started out okay except that programming it was a challenge. The instructions? Forget it. I had to figure it out myself as the instructions didn't instruct. Okay, it's a Kitchen Aid and I was willing to forgive and forget...it's probably just me, or so I thought. After a month or so, the door on the filter compartment started to pop open. I would hear it click shut and then come back and it was open. Then, after a while, the little devil didn't even try to hide its contrary nature and the door would open while I stood there and watched it. The Coup de grace? The friggin carafe leaks.

I HATE YOU COFFEE MAKER and I'm going back to my 30 year old french press.
Ease of use Coffee Maker?, (What's this?) The KitchenAid 14-cup Glass Coffee Maker makes a good cup of coffee. BUT one word of warning...do not ever lose your Product Manual. (You will definitely need the manual to aid you in all the steps necessary to program it.) This coffee maker is full of different electronic features. It has many difficult electronic settings you have to make in order to use this coffee pot. It's even more difficult to have to re-program your coffee maker, if the power goes out. I just cringe when the power flickers.
Awesome, awesome...., So after taking back my Cuisinart DGB-600BC Grind & Brew, Brushed Chrome,(horrible product) I decided to buy this (KitchenAid)I came home did a good clean on this machine and brew me the BEST cup of coffee you can brew at home. It tasted so good, and now I think I know what the "refined" word taste like (I still dont care what it means)Awesome coffee maker, my mom always told me that coffee tastes better when you have the right brewer, now I can see that. It does have a filter in it to filter the tap water, so I think that has a lot to do with it, so in general, good coffee, the best.
Faulty carafe, Overall, this coffee maker has been fine, but we recently had to replace the carafe as the plastic ring around the top came unglued, and as a result, coffee would leak through the lip on the front when you pour. Very annoying. Tried to use super glue to reattach the top ring, but it only lasted about two weeks before the heat ultimately made the glue ineffective and it began leaking again.
Seal was bad, (What's this?)
