Works good but blah coffee, (What's this?) I bought this to replace my Cuisineart 4 cup coffee maker which works fine, but leaks from the carafe onto the counter with every pour. I have to say that the Mr. Coffee looks pretty nice, the price is right, and after a handful of uses functions just fine. The first few cups tasted less rich and flavorful than I thought they should. Since I still had my old coffee maker, I set up a test using the same variety coffee and same amount in the two coffee makers side-by-side. Sure enough, the Mr. Coffee just doesn't make very flavorful coffee and the Cuisinart was noticably better. The Cuisinart has a cone filter and Mr.
Amazing, (What's this?) It's just what I needed. I have no complaints with it. It's easy to use and clean. I use it everyday now :) The item was shipped in time.
Strange Reviews, (What's this?) I don't get the reviews here. I've had this thing for about a week, using it twice a day, and haven't spilled a drop. Coffee comes out tasting like coffee. It's a good machine if all you want are 2 cups of normal person sized coffee.
POS = DOA, (What's this?) Ordered as a gift. Dead out of the box. Recipient called Mr. Coffee direct and they told him they would send a replacement out within a week, but I'm not happy about the product being dead out of the box. Hope to have better luck with the replacement.
Fine for what it is, (What's this?) It's an inexpensive drip coffemaker, and I got it as a gold box or lightning deal a few weeks ago for about the price of a package of good coffee at my local supermarket. I needed something to use to make my morning coffee after I returned my Keurig coffeemaker. (Loved the Keurig, hated all the plastic waste created by using the K-cups and never succeeded in making a good cup using any of the available "use your own coffee" K-cup alternatives.
Great little coffee pot, (What's this?) I bought this to replace an old Krups coffee pot. Many of the reviews talked about problems with leakage and difficulty using the carafe. Since I have a similar coffee pot at work here are the tricks to making spill free pot.
tiny and adorable, (What's this?) We had a Mr Coffee machine that was twice this size for a good 10 years (great quality) but it took up too much room on our counter. I saw this and had to get it (especially during black friday's deals) and realized it was a 4 cup but didn't realize how small it was. Its adorable! Takes up almost no room, its perfect for what we need.
Does it's job!!, (What's this?) I bought this small coffee maker for my office. Perfect size for me. The only complain I have is the coffee does not taste as good and tastes little burnt. I have a 12-cup coffee maker and by comparison, I feel this coffee maker does not do it's job as well as the other one.
Nice little coffee maker, This little coffee maker brews very good coffee. But there are three things to keep in mind in order to repeatedly get pleasant tasting coffee when using this coffee maker.
#1. Make sure you lightly clean the decanter & basket and brew 4 CUPS OF WATER before you ever make your first cup of coffee with this coffeemaker. This is important, and is right on page 2 of the directions.
I would bet that many people skip this step, and consequently wonder why the coffee they made has a subpar taste.
#2. Clean the coffee maker once a month. White vinegar works quite well. Again, the directions give the proper procedure.
#3. Keep in mind that with this coffeemaker, "one cup" of coffee = 5 ounces. If say, you want to drink 8 ounces of coffee(one measured cup) you should fill the reservoir to the 2 cup (10 ounce) mark. The paper filter absorbs around 2 ounces of water, so after brewing you are left with one "cup" of coffee.
Bad Design, (What's this?) This is the poorest design of a coffeepot I have ever seen in my over 50 years of drinking coffee.
The lid opens up to vertical which interferes with the pot when filling the unit. And if that is not enough, if you overfill the unit, there is a hole in the back of the unit where the water runs out onto your counter.
Brewing pause 'n serve lets you pour a cup of coffee while the coffeemaker is still brewing.Dual water window shows the amount of water in the reservoir for accurate filling.Stain-Resistant Warming Plate is easy to clean and prevents staining..On/off indicator light lets you know when your coffeemaker is on or off.Removable filter basket lifts out for fast and easy filling and cleaning. Perfect for apartment living or at the office, this nifty coffee maker features Mr. Coffee’s Pause 'n Serve so you can fill a cup whenever.
