Mr. Coffee FTTX95-1 10-Cup Thermal Coffeemaker, Black

Mr. Coffee FTTX95-1 10-Cup Thermal Coffeemaker, Black
All steamed up, Picked up this model so I wouldn't break any more Carafes. Unit was easy to understand without reading the instructions. Water filter is a nice addition and replacements seem to be reasonable priced. So does it make a hot pot of coffee? Even using a pot of cold water in a cold carafe, I had to wait patiently for my coffee to be drinkable. Three hours later when I poured the last 2 cups out for ice coffee, it was still steaming hot.
Buyer Beware...., I received this coffee maker as a gift nearly 2 years ago, and put up with its flaws until this week, when for the 10th time it leaked an entire pot of coffee all over the counter and floor. As previous reviews have stated, every so often the lid malfunctions and the valve that allows coffee to enter the carafe sticks, leading to wonderful-smelling brewed coffee EVERYWHERE. I tried to identify a way to prevent this, to no avail. VERY frustrating to spend an hour cleaning coffee out of cupboards and drawers when I need to be getting ready for work in the morning.

The brewed coffee is good, and the carafe does keep coffee hot (when pre-warmed and when at least half full). There are, however, 2 more design flaws that lead me to caution anyone to reconsider this purchase. The carafe lid seems to have innumerable unreachable reservoirs that accumulate disgusting, dirty (gray-black) water that leaks out at odd times.
brews coffee for countertops and floor, If I could give this less than one star - I would. . . My counter top - however - might not. After a couple months - the coffee barely makes it into the decanter - instead, it spills on the counter and floor. I am relieved to realize I am not the only one who has this problem, I was starting to question my ability of placing the decanter on the burner properly. The item should be recalled. It is pathetic.
This pot is not worth the space it takes on my counter, I received this coffee pot for Christmas, 5 months ago. Since I got it I have not liked it. Seriously its very hard to poor the coffee and I am one of the ones that unscrews the lid to poor. Second it is not hot. Third I woke up this am to make coffee and all the water started rushing out of this little black plug in the back. I called the customer service line and was provided 2 options for local service dealers, mind you I live near a huge city, and the nearest service center is 3 hours away. I am super thankful I kept my old faithful coffee pot in the rafters. Do not buy this coffee pot. Oh and I agree with others if you want a cup prior to the end of the brewing cycle, its gonna continue to drip, even though the directions say it has a stop feature.
Ya get what cha pay for!, I had an AKO dual thermal coffee maker for almost 20 years. We don't need dual any more and do need counter space, so shopping I went. The price on this one was great, but it's the only thing that is. As many others have mentioned, the coffee is lukewarm. Soak it first in hot tap water first? Then what's the point of buying a coffee pot with a timer and a thermal carafe? I'm getting ahead of myself. Lets start with setting it up for brewing. The area to pour the water into has a very narrow access area. If you miss, it goes into the filter area, onto the plate and all over the counter top. The instructions say not to fill over the 10 cup mark. What they DON'T tell you is that if you accidentally do, there's a hole in the back of the tank so that it drains out of all over the counter top. Again. Impossible to pour the water in the tank through the narrow opening AND watch the water level at the same time. So either way, there's water everywhere. Even the carafe itself is not functional. If you use the button to pour coffee out, it drizzles out. If you open the carafe to pour it runs down the front. Another mess. My counters are as clean as they've ever been. I think I'll sell this piece of crap on eBay and buy anything other than a Mr Coffee.
Caught on fire !!, Bought this Coffeemaker last year from a local store. It worked fine until yesterday and then it caught on fire !!! I know it wasn't the electrical socket and it wasn't a power surge - It must have been something in the coffeemaker electric system. Fortunately I was able to put out the fire before it set the cabinets on fire.
Very disappointed., What a rip off. Over $50 for a coffee maker that makes luke warm coffee. If I had the original box I would take it back. I will now boycott Mr. Coffee products. That is the only satisfaction I can get. I always thought that Mr. Coffee was a name that I could trust.
Flawed indeed, but makes WONDERFUL coffee, This coffeemaker replaced a 10 year old Black and Decker model that had never been satisfactory. After making two pots of coffee in this one, I can honestly say it's the best coffee I've ever had.

No, the unit isn't perfect--the clock is dim and pretty useless as a kitchen clock, though the delay feature is accurate. I'm worried about leakage--there seemed to be water all over the counter both times I've used it which could just be user error--and the learning curve on the carafe is a bit annoying, but if what you're after is excellent coffee, it does it.
Works great with minor flaws, I bought this coffee maker for my freshman year of college. I actually make coffee everyday, sometime even twice a day (so have probably run at least 1000 cycles with this maker). I have just finished up with my junior year of college and am still using this coffee maker. I have had very few problems with it. After about two years, the foil (silver part) on the front started to crinkle and peel away due to the steam given off during the brewing cycle. Also, a minimal amount of water does come out the back when water is placed in the coffee maker, but these problems are nothing but a nuisance.

The coffee brewed tastes good and the coffee maker is really easy to use. The thermal carafe also keeps the coffee hot for longer than what people have been saying. It's still hot two hours after the brewing cycle. I love the delay feature. I use it nearly every time, putting the grounds and water in at night and setting the delay for morning.

Though there are minor flaws, it's been a trusty and reliable coffee maker for me.
Do not buy., (What's this?) Reviews for Mr. Coffee FTTX95-1 10-Cup Thermal Coffeemaker, Black (Kitchen) Don't make the same mistake as me. It did exactly as reviewed. Worked for a week then started to leak and fried the electronics. Doesn't work at all now. Waste of time and money.
