Krups FME2-14 12-Cup Coffeemaker with Glass Carafe, Black

Incredible Value for the price!, I just can't believe to see some persons that give 1 or 2 stars for this product or similars Krups products! For the price the fact is that Krups coffee makers do their principal job;make a great coffee for at least 1 year(warranty time) and all that for the price of a meal for 2 persons in a regular restaurant!

What can we ask more for the price honestly?I have this model,I own it since 6 years,it works every day,it still last and it makes wonderful coffee, wow! Will I complain for minor problems that majority can live with?Of course not!

Just think about it.
Poor Quality Assurance of Product, (What's this?) I strongly suspect quality assurance has gone downhill with Krups. This lemon should never have been shipped. It worked 3 times over three days (no programming, just simple use). Then, the 4th morning, I hit the on button and it began making repetitive clicking noises, the console began flashing repetitively too, and it not only did not process the water/grind and make a pot of coffee, but it was not possible even to turn it off anymore. The on/off completely failed to work anymore. I had to unplug it.

It simply should never have left the manufacturer. Very bad quality assurance.

Unfortunately, I had disposed of the box on the third day, so I have to figure out how to pack and return this thing that should never have been sold to a customer.

I think Krups makes good coffeemakers and I have used them for decades. I just suspect, as is so often the case these days, that they care more about their profit margin than about the quality assurance and are cutting some corners/processes that they should not have. So, I am no longer a Krups customer. It's the only way we consumers can make a point.

Later: I've decided to get a replacement and try again. As I said, I've used Krups for decades. From other similar reviews, it's clear they do have a QA problem. If the replacement doesn't work, then I will have to conclude Krups no longer cares about its own product and I will find another brand that is as reliable as Krups *used* to be.
Krups FME coffeemaker, (What's this?) I just received my 5th FME coffeemaker by Krups. Krups has a good name, but these coffeemakers have a flaw. The check valve is made of plastic that eventually breaks. The check valve is what makes the hot water stay up once it heads for the filter basket, so when it breaks, the coffeemaker is not going to work anymore. So why do I keep buying them? I have three insulated carafes from early purchases that are the very best I've experienced for keeping coffee hot for a long, long time. I started buying the cheaper FME2s that have a glass carafe, but I use the insulated ones instead. At present, I am using three of the FMEs and when the next one quits I am going to dissect it and try to fix the poorly designed check valve. I wrote to Krups about the check valve, but they do not respond in any way other than to invite me to pay $20+ to ship it to see if they can fix it. If you can find a better coffeemaker that keeps coffee hot for as long, buy it and let the rest of us know. This issue with the check valve is the only poor experience I have had with Krups products over my 50 years of coffee drinking. I wish they would fix it themselves.
krupp's coffee maker, (What's this?) When my old Krupp's coffee maker finally, after more than 20 years, gave up the ghost, I bought a different make because the store did not carry Krupp, and I needed it NOW. After using it for about a week, I could not stand it any longer, and bought a Krupp again. The two days of waiting for it to arrive from Amazon were well worth it!
RESULT: the coffee tastes better, is hotter, and the coffee maker was no higher in price.
Dependable, Have had this coffee maker for over 5 years. Just died and am buying another. Programming is not the easiest and filling to the back is not the best design, but it works great and that's what counts.
Disappointing, The coffee pot spills when try to pour unless you are super slow and careful. We ended up putting our cups in the sink when we poured from the carafe, that's how bad it was. Even after 7 months, we were unable to consistently pour without a big mess. The rubber band in the part of the coffee maker that holds the filter (the cone-shaped part) broke, and we had to get a replacement. The replacement came off in the dishwasher and we had to get a re-replacement. Then after 7 months, the electronic pad stopped working. For us, that's 3 defective elements in one machine! I'm replacing this right now, with a different brand. We owned our first Krups for over 10 years without incident. This one was cheaply made and poorly thought. Beware.
Don't know why this keeps happening, (What's this?) The coffee maker makes good hot coffee; however, I am not pleased with the fact that one of the little rollers on the bottom of the holder to move it keeps coming off and this is very annoying.
Fourth Krups coffeemaker, (What's this?) Krups has become a habit, so despite their rather short lives (two years on average) and eventual fall-off in keeping the carafe contents hot, I keep reordering them (FME2-14 12-cup w/glass carafe) for ease of operation, reasonable price, good brewed coffee, and fit with my countertop space. My latest is all-black, prior was black w/stainless-steel look, and two prior were white with fewer features. Would have ordered the model with a stainless thermal carafe, but was on a budget. Tip: Amazon uses the U S Post Office to deliver, which requires recipient's signature, so if you're absent, it won't get delivered and entails arrangements with postman to redeliver, hopefully not a whole week later as mine did. Would prefer use of UPS or FedEx Ground.
Legendary Quality!, (What's this?) Krups knows how to manufacture coffee makers. They brew quickly, have replaceable charcoal filters and provide a lifetime of service. This FME2-14 12 cup model was a replacement for another Krups that lasted almost 20 years. Where my family lives, we have hard well water and the unit needs to be decalcified regularly, but after it is cleaned it functions flawlessly.
Hot coffee, (What's this?) I was seeking a coffeemaker that makes a hot cup of coffee and this Krups coffeemaker seems to fit the bill. I also was quickly able to program this machine when I received it so that I have that hot cup of coffee when I wake up in the morning. I would purchase another Krups.

Combining appealing and distinctive design with a powerful, fully programmable brewing system, this 1100-watt coffeemaker provides fast and efficient brewing. The unit features a cascading brew head that delivers a shower of hot water to ensure even extraction, while its flavor-control aroma switch maximizes flavor--perfect when brewing smaller amounts. Even more, the coffeemaker's bright-blue, illuminated LED control panel makes it easy to program the clock and timer, which allows for waking up to the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and offers automatic shut-off options (from one to five hours). A glass carafe comes included, complete with a stay-cool handle and a drip-free pour spout. For sneaking a quick cup of coffee midbrew, simply remove the carafe from the machine to pause the flow of coffee, then replace the carafe to continue the brewing process--a nice feature, particularly for those in a hurry for that first sip. Other highlights include a 60-ounce water reservoir, an empty water-reservoir detection function that shuts the unit off automatically if empty, an audible "ready" signal at the end of the brewing cycle, and a DuoFilter water-filtration system that removes chlorine for better-tasting coffee and helps reduces mineral deposits for longer machine life. The sleek-looking coffeemaker measures 10-1/2 by 8-1/2 by 13-3/4 inches.
