Black & Decker SDC740B SpaceMaker 12-Cup Coffeemaker, Black Overpriced and shoddy

Nosedive product, (What's this?) I have had 3 B & D spacemaker coffee makers over many years which worked great. My last one would not make nor keep the coffee hot and died within 7 months. Black & Decker lost the formula for a great product.
I've had 4 of these Spacemaker Coffee makers, (What's this?) The holes drilled in the cabinet have been used by all 4 of my coffe makers by Black and Decker Spacemaker. Even though each lasted many years, I can buy a newer one and still put it in myself w/o making new holes. Convenient, good coffee, pretty, simple to replace. The oldest one leaked water, next, was an 8-cup Thermal (not enough when company came and had to microwave cup of coffee to warm it up to temp. ) Now, with the newest one; I'm enjoying my morning coffee. I like the Programing too, coffee is ready when I wake up. I purchased it with the help of Amazon...my computer skills are limited, but I was instructed very well.
Sorely dissapointed., Similar to other reviewers we've had several of the spacemaker appliances over the years. When we moved into our new place we couldn't wait to get a new set!

Man, we soooo should have kept the old ones.

Problems:

Installation - like others have stated the template was a joke and this ended up taking us HOURS to install/correct, etc. Nothing like the previous models.

Water Reservoir - pretty much useless as originally intended.
Black and Decker Coffee Pot SDC740B, (
spacemaker 12 cup coffeemaker, this coffeemaker is wonderful, a little difficult to understand the directions but you can do it. Many people found it impossible to install single handed but I used masking tape to hold the spacers in place and ran the screws through it in order to do it myself. I just love it. I have the grinder as well!! 5, 5, 5, all the way.
wouldn't buy it, My husband wanted this coffee maker just to save counter space. I would not buy another and hope this one dies a quick death. It leaks from the water side and also from the basket. we are always wiping up water. Also it is hard to fill the water tank, it does not sit level. Also the tank has been leaking after filling it and setting it in the maker.
It was difficult to install and the temp plate did not work well with our cabinets. Don't see where it really saves counter space. Had to purchase this because it was the only one my husband wanted.
Works OK But Pieces Fall Into The Basket, (What's this?) Like The Styling. Functionaly, So Far It Working. But The The Water Spreader Above The Coffee Basket Will Not Stay In Place, Snap It In Make A Pot, And It Will Be Laying In The Grounds When You Go To Clean It. Finally Gave Up, Threw It In A Drawer, And Have Forgot About It Untill Now. Other Than That Makes A Normal Pot Of Coffee. Oh The Pots A Little Hard To Handle. The Lid and Grip Is Very Long And Makes It A Little Unwieldey. If You Need The Space It Is Acceptable If You Have Room On The Counter There Are Better.
bad coffee maker, this is a bad coffee maker do not buy it, the coffee is not hot,you cannot see the digital window its not lit up , the hole to put water in resivory is to small and you can"t see how much water you put in as it moves up and down like a tidal wave.
Overpriced and shoddy, First of all, this makes a tasty cup of coffee and looks awesome once you get it installed. Mine doesn't leak (a few other reviewers had that complaint). It brews quickly. Someone involved in the design of this coffee maker was a smart and practical engineer.

Then... there must have been a bean counter there to thin the product.

The materials used were bad enough that I would have returned this had it not been a gift from my mother (via Amazon's wish list).
Love it!, (What's this?) This makes excellent coffee & is easy to set up. I love the extra counter space that I have now that I don't have a coffeemaker sitting on the counter. Installation was quick & easy.

Coffee brews directly into the unit's Perfect Pour glass carafe, which provides a generous stay-cool handle and a drip-free spout. Other highlights include a removable filter basket, a removable water reservoir with an illuminated water-level indicator window, a nonstick heating plate, cord storage, and automatic shut-off for peace of mind.

Keurig 15508 K-Cup Mini-Brewers, Green Mountain Nantucket Blend Warm Brown Water

Amazingly wonderful coffee!, (What's this?) I love this Nantucket Blend coffee by Green Mountain and will continue to stock my kitchen with it! It is not too strong, not too weak, just right.
Green Mountain Nantucket Blend K-cups, I recently bought a Keurig coffee maker, and this blend of coffee was my first to try on the coffee maker. It's very tasteful, and I will continue to drink it.
great product K-Cup, (What's this?) Fast, great service, excellent product.Love the one cup serving, and lots of coffee choices. No more wasted coffee.
Warm Brown Water, That's what my mother said, and she doesn't even like strong coffee! We got her a Keurig machine for Christmas, and so far have had fun trying the various K-Cups. Mom is leaning towards Wake-Up Call as an everyday coffee, and my wife and I (who drink Jeremiah's Pick Fogbuster or Longbottom Black Gold as our morning cup) think that's good, too. So, to keep this short, Nantucket Blend doesn't taste bad, it just doesn't have much flavor. If you like your coffee very mild/weak, you might love it. If you like stronger, bolder, darker blends, forget about it.
Keurig Green Mountain coffee, Nantucket Blend, (What's this?) A very nice coffee; not overly strong and with nice flavor. The Green Mountain line of coffees are a good choice for the Keurig System.
A New Household Favorite, (What's this?) I bought this because my boyfriend likes Green Mountain coffee, but had not tried this blend before.

  • 18-pack keurig k-cups

  • 18-pack keurig k-cups. Unlike pods, the K-cups provide an airtight seal and cup to lock in freshness and flavor, a cone-shaped pure paper filter for superior results, and the ideal grind and measure of 100-percent Arabica coffee beans. In fact, the patented Keurig K-cup is actually a highly engineered, technologically advanced mini-brewer. And brewing occurs inside the K-cup so no flavor residue is left behind to spoil the next cup. For quick cleanup, simply throw away the K-cup when finished. The pack includes 18 single-serve coffee K-cups. Designed for Keurig gourmet single-cup brewers, these medium-roast flavored coffee K-cups provide great tasting coffee, borrowing berry flavors from African beans, a full body from Indonesian beans, and a subtle smokiness from a touch of French Roast for a measure of complexity, balance, and caramel. Guided by a series of socially conscious principles, Green Mountain prides itself on helping to preserve the pristine environments and indigenous cultures where the beans are grown.

Technivorm Moccamaster Coffee Brewer With Thermo Carafe - Technivorm 9587 Great coffee but....

Its survived 2 months with NO problems..a miracle itself!, (What's this?) Having used many kinds of coffeemakers through the years from Cuisinart, Braun, Proctor-Silex, Bunn, Mr.
Not worth the hype . . ., I originally bought the model with the thermal carafe and when the manual stop on the basket broke I returned it and replaced it with the glass carafe. I drink a lot of coffee and have gone thru many coffee pots in the last 35 years. I honestly don't think the coffee tastes best in this machine. I've been brewing Starbuck's French Roast for the last 15 years and this machine is not a noticeable improvement over the other brands I've had - namely Cusinart, Krups, and Mr. Coffee. On top of the coffee taste the pot has no automatic shut-off and at my age I'm nervous about forgetting that it's on. Absolutely not worth the money.
Great coffee but...., (What's this?) The coffee tastes like chocolate! Best coffee ever.
The only problem is that is goes through the filter way to fast.
Easy fix is to let it sit for 2 cups, close the drip, let it sit for 30 seconds, empty, then repeat.
Good Coffee, But...., (What's this?) I have tried many drip coffee makers, including some higher priced ones.
    Best Coffee Maker, (What's this?)
A lot to pay for hot water, (What's this?) Well, I was really looking forward to receiving the "instrument" and getting some of the best home brewed coffee to be had. What a disappointment when it came. Yes, the water was hot. No, it did not taste significantly different than that from my Cuisinart drip maker. I drink Peet's coffee everyday, so I should have a pretty good sense of whether this brew was significantly different. I call it an instrument because it really does look like something from the lab. Lot's of removable pieces to wash when needed, but as a result it never really seems to be sitting squarely on the counter. For $300 I wanted to be satisfied. I was not. I will say that the company I ordered this from (Abt) was great about accepting the slightly used product back for a refund, so kudos to them.
Worth the money...., I bought this coffee maker a couple of months ago after seeing it in Williams Sonoma. You can spend a lot more or a lot less on a coffee maker but this makes the best cup of coffee I've made at home regardless of price.
Not a good thermal, I bought this unit from Boyds.
The thermal carafe is completely open on top when brewing. The lid for the thermal is not a brew through lid. Too much heat is lost.
You also have to be right there to grab the pot and screw the lid on...or it will be cold coffee PDQ.

My older cheaper Krups Thermal had a much better thermal pot. I replaced this thermal pot with a third party one that is made to use with Technivorm sold thru Boyds.
It has a brew thru lid and keeps the coffee much warmer.

I cannot recommend this unit without the purchase of the other pot and that Xtra pot was $50.
This unit is so expensive to begin with, I would definitely look further if I did this again.
Technivorm Moccamaster Coffee Brewer With Thermo Carafe - Technivorm 9587 Review, (What's this?) After many hours of research, I bought this coffee brewer for my wife who enjoys a good cup of coffee each morning. This is a top notch product. Each cup brewed has a great taste and is not bitter. The construction is high quality. I can operate this unit without any instructions because everything is so straight forward. My wife is very please.
    Very good Coffee!!!,

Roadpro RPSC-784 12-Volt Quick Cup Coffee Maker with 16 oz. Metal Carafe Vehicle Coffee Maker

Save your money, (What's this?) Save your money. It worked great the first time. Now the coffee is only luke warm . I only used it four times.I did not expect
much for the price .But I did expect more than what I got. Save your money....
Vehicle Coffee Maker, (What's this?) This is not a great coffee maker that will make the best tasting coffee ever BUT when on the road it can do the job of making a decent cup for semi-enjoyable consumption. It seemed to require more grinds than a typical home type coffee maker but I had a similar issue with a home pot that used the plastic filter.
good for 12v, I bought this coffee maker at a truck stop and have used it several times. It mkes a nice cup of coffee and is plenty hot in my opinion. it does take a while to brew, and does not have a "finished" indicator, but keep in mind this draws about as much juice as you can safely use from 12v pug. I doubt that other 12v coffee makers are any better. i am very happy with my purchase.
Some like it hotter, (What's this?) I guess you can't have it all with a 12 volt appliance. Just wanted a better cup than what the truck stops offer, but the thing takes such a long time to brew the mug full and there's no lower heating element...okay if you want it black, but it's barely warm if I add creamer.
Slow and not even tasty :/, (What's this?) I'm using this coffee maker now for 14 days and the coffee still tastes like plastic.

  • Brews directly into the stainless steel travel mug
  • Brews 16 ounces of coffee in under 15 minutes, has water level meter and 7-feet cord
  • Stop-Drip Interrupt prevents drips and mess when mug is removed
  • Illuminated on/off switch with fused 12-volt plug

Hamilton Beach 40886 Stainless Steel Electric Cordless Kettle Dangerous

perfect kettle, I'm gonna blather on and on about a tea kettle, so stop reading here if you have a life.

So far this kettle is the best I've used. I don't buy plastic kettles because I don't like the idea of hot water against plastic. I've had all sorts of cool stove top metal kettles. All of them broke or else I burnt them up, which is a danger when stove top kettles are used by easily distracted people. Then I started using an old revereware pan. It was great but water evaporated fast and it took a long time.

But this. It's just the best system. You put the water in, push the button and it heats very fast. The paddle flips up and yer done. Can't get simpler. Perfect for making tea, which I drink a lot of.

Look at the distribution of reviews. People either love this or hate it. Seems like there are some quality control or design issues. I'm a bit of a complainer.
Fantastic!, (What's this?) My wife bought one over 3 years ago when she moved here. She uses it every day, at least once a day if not more. Her original one still worked great, but started to develop some rust around the lid edge. We just replaced it with the same model, and it too works great. The water boils so fast and is great. very sturdy, and doesn't look too bad sitting on the counter as she still uses it every morning, and sometimes in the evening as well. I use it for heating water for our smoker.
Excellent kettle for tea!, I've had this kettle for 3 years now, and it has been a fantastic kettle. I will replace it with another when it finally wears out.
Boil me over!, I have had this kettle for over a year and it is still going strong. Water boils quickly and stays hot for a while. I have not found the switch to be flimsy, it only needs a slight touch to press it down. The handle design is great, no fear of burning hands and very ergonomic.
Why make the only moving part out of cheap plastic???, We've used this kettle every day several times a day. We drink a lot of tea and regularly use it to heat water to boiling faster than on the stove, like for pasta, etc. We only heated water in it. It is easy to clean. It is a well made kettle in all respects except one: the plastic on/off switch. After about two years it broke and we've disposed of the whole kettle because there is no way to repair it. Looking at the broken piece, though, the brittle plastic switch is a lever, and is only about 1/8" x 1/8" in cross section and about 1.5 inches in length (this is the end you can't see inside the kettle, the other end of the fat tab that is the visible part of the switch). I believe the switch broke just from fatigue due to regular use.
This kettle is a workhorse - I love it, I've had this kettle for almost a year now and it works wonderfully. It is in my office and I use it almost everyday. I heat water to make iced tea all summer and hot tea when it gets cold.

I chose this particular kettle because the inside, where the water gets hot is metal--I did not want chemicals from plastic leaching into my water. I looked at other metal kettles and many of them were just too expensive. I was concerned that this one might burn out quickly because it was so affordable, but to my delight it is going strong.

It's good looking, narrow enough to not take up too much surface space, but big enough to make a whole thermos of tea. I love it.
Not a star, a good supernumerary., (What's this?) Just received this item so these are observations from first day of use.
-Works nicely though a bit louder than our last kettle.
An ok product., I've had my teapot for about a year. I do like how fast it heats up water. Mine still works just fine but leaks like a seive. I keep mine on a folded dishtowel to collect the leaking water. It started to leak around the plastic water level area first (within about a month)and now is leaking around the base. Would I buy this product again, probably not. The kettle gets very hot so is a burn issue if you have younger children or a clutz like me in the house. I just make sure it isn't plugged in when not in use.
PIECE OF CRAP, DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT. Bought this in July 2008, and just stopped working after one year. Returned it to HB for service and they replaced it promptly. But the "stainless steel" has rusted and now (Sept 2011)is starting to leak. It is going in the trash.
Dangerous, I used this at work (in the winter only maybe once or twice a day) for about 3-4 years and when it worked, it was good. But many times the contacts in the base that connect to the kettle to heat the water had to be pried up with a paper clip (while unplugged of course) as they were down too far for the kettle to make contact. Now today it stopped working again so I adjusted the contacts again and it wouldn't work... I finally decided to open the base (also, while unplugged)to see what was going on and found that one of the wires was completely broken and another one was corroded, there was a bit of melted plastic around the wires as well.

This is dangerous and should not be used. There was absolutely no evidence that there was a problem with corrosion or split wires in the base until I took it apart, which most people won't do, so they will either think it just stopped working or it may start a fire or something.

  • 1.7-liter kettle with powerful 1,500-watt heating element for rapid boiling
  • Cord-free kettle rotates 360 degrees, easily removes from base
  • Drip-free spout; anti-scale mesh filter
  • Convenient water level window; 2-year warranty
  • Auto shutoff with boil-dry protection for safety

  • 1.7-liter kettle with powerful 1,500-watt heating element for rapid boiling.Cord-free kettle rotates 360 degrees, easily removes from base.Drip-free spout; anti-scale mesh filter.Convenient water level window; 2-year warranty.Auto shutoff with boil-dry protection for safety. This electric kettle heats up to 1.7 liters of water for coffee, tea, or instant soup without requiring the use of a stove. The round plastic base plugs into any standard outlet and gets water boiling in no time with its 1,500 watts of power. When water has boiled, a safety mechanism turns the unit off and prevents the kettle from boiling dry. For easy lifting and serving, the kettle rotates 360 degrees on the base and travels cord-free from counter to table for pouring. While the kettle's brushed stainless-steel exterior gets very hot during boiling, the plastic handle and knob on the removable lid safeguard against burns by staying cool. A drip-free spout keeps water from splashing and scalding and an anti-scale mesh filter traps lime and calcium particles (found in hard water) before they end up in a teacup. A clear water-level window conveniently shows how much water is left in the kettle. For long-term performance, the kettle's heating element is concealed, which keeps mineral deposits to a minimum and makes cleaning easier. Hamilton Beach warrants this product for two years from the date of purchase.

Rancilio Espresso Machine - Rancilio Silvia $1000 later, was it worth it?

Eight full years of ownership; basic consensus., Yeah, it's quite grind- and tamp-fussy. Yes, it takes awhile to warm up. Yes, you need to buy a decent tamper. But ...

    1) Just turn it on when you first wake up. It'll be ready when you are.

    2) If you live in a metro. area, screw the burr grinder; have fresh beans ground by your local guy. (Stop screaming, bean-geeks. It's an "adequate" approach, and you secretly know it.

    3) The upshot (pun) is this: sadly, you will be ruined for coffee anywhere but your own home. Name-your-bar, name your price/cup, you will (after a little practice) reflexively spit back everything arrogantly and expensively served to you anywhere else. The best cup of coffee I've ever had is in my kitchen, every morning.

Finally, my machine had some minor problems upon delivery, but Whole Latte Love sent a new pump; pronto. Could not have been nicer or more accommodating.
$1000 later, was it worth it?, (What's this?) Heed the warnings and read everyone's review. In most cases the machine is not broken, you need to test different grind settings to create the best extraction.
Yes it will Last and Last!!! But..., I have owned Ms. Silvia for over 8 years... I have the Rocky $350.00 grinder... I roast my own beans... Thousands of shots... Gram scale... Temp surf... Marvelous most days... Finicky others...

Stepped up to Breville BES900XL Semi Automatic Espresso Machine...
No more single boiler machines for me... easy frothing and pull shots at the same time...
Save your money and go dual boiler machine... What ever brand you choose.. You won't be sorry!!!
This machine is perfect for two people in the morning...

    P.S.
Works well on day 1 with proper grind, Just received my Rancilio Silvia V3 yesterday. My first impression was "wow". This is one solid unit with a heavy-duty portafilter. If everything runs as smoothly as I hope, this machine should last me a lifetime. When I first removed everything from the water tank, I noticed that the short hose wasn't sitting down quite as low as it could in the tank, so I removed the tank and found the hose clip underneath. I moved the hose clip higher and into the tank so that it holds the two hoses at a better angle inside the tank. I am using only filtered water (currently Brita filtered), which I used for 6 years on my La Pavoni Si without ever having any calcium deposit issues, although I still plan to descale regularly.

I still have an older burr grinder (Cuisinart) that does not grind the beans fine enough for this machine. Fortunately, I've found that if I grind the beans in the Cuisinart grinder first, then use my Bosch blade grinder to grind them even finer, I can achieve the consistency and fine granules needed to pull a decent espresso shot on the machine. After watching several videos, it is clear that the beans must be a slightly powdery consistency so that the grains stick together (slight clumping)--between the consistency of salt and flour.

So far I've had 3 decent shots out of a total of 5. I pulled the first 4 shots last night. The first shot was before using the Bosch for a finer grind, so extraction was too fast. The second shot had better extraction due to a finer grind and decent tamping (albeit with the plastic tamper provided by Rancilio), but the tamper is definitely not ideal. I did not grind the beans for the third shot fine enough (changed beans and didn't look carefully for clumping) and I think I was a bit short on grounds, so that one extracted too quickly. For the fourth shot I used the 58 mm Rattleware tamper, which is absolutely fantastic and the best immediate upgrade to the machine. One thing to watch for is to make sure the grounds are not above the groove in the portafilter basket or else you won't be able to get the portafilter into the group head. I only use the double basket, since a single shot is really not enough.

This morning I made an almost perfect shot--even with my poor grinder setup. I used Major Dickason's, which I keep in the freezer.
Best I've owned yet, Rancilio makes automatic and super automatic machines costing thousands, they made the Silvia as a gift for it's distributors, it proved so popular that they decided to make it and sell it to consumers.

I've had 4 pump driven machines over the years, and purchased the Silvia this year.

With a little effort, this machine is the perfect home machine, simple as a rock, user serviceable if you're handy, and makes damn good coffee.

If you're thinking of purchasing this machine, watch some videos on YouTube to see what you're letting yourself in for, the reason I purchased it is because I like simple machines and I've become very accustomed to manual machines over the years. My friends with automatic and super automatic machines typically need their machines serviced every months to a year for $100-$200 each time, they have to ship their machines to service centers and don't have the use of their machines while they're serviced.

Do yourself a favor and buy a good grinder ($100 or so should do it), a metal 58mm tamper, and a frothing pitcher.

    Enjoy.
Rancilio Silvia v3 Not easy at first, but makes good espressos after you get the experience, (What's this?) The Rancilio Silvia V3 is a good Espresso Machine, but it is hard to use at first. As soon as you get the right grinding grade and right tampering you can get a very good espresso. I prepare the espresso first and then I frother the milk not the other way around. Doing so I make sure the water for the espresso is at the correct temperature. I am not a connoisseur or barista though. Also when you don't turn on the machine first and give time to the water to warm up is noisy, very noisy, specially at 6am in a apartment building. I always turn on the machine and allow it to heat the water without pressing any button first. It doesn't take long and it is quieter that way.
Have used the original for 6 years, still working great, This is not an automatic plug and play machine. There is a learning curve with this machine so I recommend searching the Internet of what you are getting yourself into. It is not a POD system, if you do not want to learn it then I suggest going that route. One of the keys to a great shot is a quality conical grinder. One of those hand grinders that destroy beans will give you bad results. Read up on it. The correct tamp is also required. I have a dozer that allows me to fill the portafilter to the correct amount. Your beans will make all the difference too. Those grocery store beans have probably been sitting there for some time. I actually get mine at my local Costco. The fire the beans right there in the store. I can get them when they are still warm in the bag and have the oils still on the beans. If the beans look dried up, don't buy them.

    Pro
Inexpensive compaired to other quality machines.
    Delivers great shots.
Have not had one problem with it in the 6 years I have owned it.

    Con
Temp does swing, so you have to learn how to get around that issue.
The tamper that comes with it is crap.
Built like a tank... will buy again., We've been espresso lovers for many years. My wife and I have a latte every morning and will have a few over the weekend. When we have guests, we make lattes. Overall we pull at least 500 double shots out of the machine. We bought our Silvia in 2003. It lasted, with no service or repairs, until early 2011. And the only reason it died after 8 years (or roughly 4000 shots) was that my wife let the reservoir run dry and let a shot run and run until the motor burned out. I had some trouble finding the right pump to install and we didn't want to wait for repairs, so we picked up an Isomac Venus. Big mistake. The Rancilio seemed to get hotter, heat up more quickly, provided more pressure, a perfectly even shot every time, and was still trucking along without a hiccup after 8 years of constant use. Venus is, by contrast, only about a year old, is having trouble maintaining pressure in a shot, occasionally doesn't heat the boiler all the way, the power sometimes flickers and makes a "zap" sound like a loose connection somewhere. It'll need to go in for an overhaul.

I did end up repairing it but we were using Venus in the kitchen so we sold Silvia for chump change... and boy do I regret that. I wish I still had that machine. I'd have done far better selling the new Venus.

Unless you need a super-automatic to grind your coffee, tamp it for you, wipe your nose, powder your bottom, and read you a story before bed... you seriously can't do better than the Silvia.
Does Not Have Temp. Swings!, This is a really good Espresso Machine. It's build is very high quality and the build seems to be of commercial level. It's also very attractive.

I took measurements of the temp 3 times after the boiler light went off(that is when the water is freshly heated) and the temp. was consistent each time at the same degree. This should correct the rumors I read everywhere that this machine has wild temp swings. It does not. However, you will need to learn it's charactistics and temp surf as you would any other machine without a thermometer. I used the thermostat in a cup method to measure mine(google it).

I wanted to keep the cost down so I did not buy a PID or a thermocouple thermometer. I don't really believe they are necessary....all you have to do is learn what temp. the machine is at however minutes you choose after the boiler light goes out.

This is my first espresso machine. I don't know how other machines are, but the machine is picky about espresso grind. I have a stepless Compak K3...and it seems the slightness adjustment on the grind influences the shot. So there is not alot forgiveness if using the improper grind. Again, this may be the same for more expensive HX machines....I do not know since I never owned a HX machine(that's an extra thousand dollars for a decent one).

Steam wand is good and plenty powerful in my novice opinion. I'm still working on microfoam but I was surprised on how good my last results were. The goal is small foam...not large foam.

I've gone through alot of coffee learning. This is no easy skill to master.

If your drinking pure espresso, you'll notice the diff. between this machine and a $6,000.00 at a good coffee shop. But if you drink milk coffee drinks, it will be very hard to tell the diff.
Great machine for experienced brista's, (What's this?) Both me and my wife are experienced Beristas and we since our previous machine just broke we've decided to get a new one.
We've been using this machine for the last few week at least once a day and it's amazing!
It took us some testing and playing around to get the espresso flow to the right speed and crema and the same for the milk foam but now that we've found the perfect measure we enjoy each and every capuchino cup.

Mr. Coffee MWBLK Mug Warmer Coffee Warmer is great!

Certainly not well worth the income, The goods had been shipped since guaranteed who is fit without having harm, however, regarding maintaining a person pot of coffee warm, this won't. Actually, this rarely keeps a piping-hot hot mug of coffee comfortable.Never ever things i anticipated. Generally experienced any kind of thought of poor people overall performance in the item, We harm not have purchased it.
We are happy.,  I was fed up with obtaining cold espresso. I actually drink gradually. This type of little hotter is for me. It will maintain liquids fairly scorching, not warm. Furthermore, it appears rather risk-free, no turn off instantaneously...but it doesn't get therefore hot which i stress about starting a fire. The theory didn't be expensive, plus its not bad searching. I actually consider it a great deal, my spouse and i would buy it once more.
Hot Things.,  It truely does work considering that advertised. It's not that will boil drinking water males and females, or to take it look onto temperature.
Hot to the last drink! Your Misting. Coffee Mug Hotter really does exactly what We estimated it would perform!

Wonderful Goods My spouse and i aquired this particular pertaining to my personal boyfriend with regard to The christmas season is. He uses this particular day-to-day in his business office, and also loves the idea. He could be a system master, as are most of his / her coworkers, and they also almost all think it is wonderful. Works well.
Awesome!, Providing you begin to use this once your java is still scorching, it functions great! I'm a gradual coffee wine-drinker. Normally it takes me around a couple of hours to ingest a cup. That's exactly some tips i would when I screened this kind of. My caffeine had been warm, certainly not tepid, after couple of hours! The style is very simple. Anyone swap it in, plus a light turns on. An individual switch rid of it, as well as the light is triggered. I used to be afraid your cable would be quite short, nevertheless it was a great deal for a specified duration.
Barely hot As always Amazon online marketplace service along with shipping and delivery was excellent. The item however, your Mister. Coffee glass more comfortable is rarely in which...that is it can be scarcely warm. These are generally meant to keep your caffeine, green tea, or other scorching beverage hot. Caffeine More comfortable is great!, (What is actually this kind of?) Product is successful. It can what it is publicized to be able to do- keep caffeine cozy. Also, the idea came on time along with excellent.
Keep your cocktail cozy! There's nothing more bothersome in which leaving your current java for a moment just to come back to a cold glass regarding creamer n sweets. Several like it scorching, i prefer it Hot! This system works great along with lifestyles up to it can be identify. It's very reasonably priced and is also an easy present idea that almost anyone that refreshments warm beverages would definitely value. It's been fantastic in my experience over the holiday period. The only negative thing is needless to say the actual cord, all things considered i'm happy that you hook it up and it's definitely not battery operated, but the cable tv could possibly get in the way in accordance with in which you place the more at ease and may sometimes produce a stumbling hazard. In addition, I am down applying this item.

BUNN HT Phase Brew 8-Cup Thermal Carafe Home Coffee Brewer Bunn lament

Still on the fence., OK I received this machine from the US, cause they don't sell them in Canada. Took 3 weeks for it to arrive. Unpacked it, and the first thing I notice, this thing is huge. Not a big deal, I like the design.

The reason I bought it was because of it's ability to heat the water. I am tired of having to put coffee in the microwave after brewing. I purchased the one with the stainless carafe.

Plugged it in, set the clock and filled with water. I turned it on and the track went red and said "Heating Water". Only one small issue. Nothing happened. After 10 mins, I called Bunn USA and they said obviously something was wrong. I then called Bunn Canada and they said I could ship it to them or bring it in. Lucky for me, it was a 20 min drive.

They didn't have the stainless carafe version, but they had the glass one. Same machine, different carafe. They were nice enough to give me the one with glass carafe and let me keep my stainless one as well. I thought that was a nice touch since the trouble I had been through. I took it home and this one worked. I noticed the original one has some packaging missing, so maybe I got shopped a dud by the store and they knew it was busted.

I did feel their customer service was good and there was no doubt they would sort it out. Bunn is a huge company.

So now for the machine. It definitely gets a lot hotter than other machines. I wouldn't say the coffee tastes better, cause they all do the same thing. Pour hot water over coffee grinds. I keep seeing report how it makes such a noise. I thought it was about the same as my Quisenart. The taste is good though. The timer and the auto feature are very simple to use.

If this machine continues to work like this, I would definitely give it a 5 star rating. No other machine even comes close to the heat this baby can generate. It also turns itself off after 2 hours irrespective by the way.
Love this machine, (What's this?) I absolutely love this machine. I've had it for 10 months now and have had zero issues.
It keeps the coffee hot for hours (6+, though it rarely isn't consumed before then).
On occasion it would spill during pouring do from operator haste, but over time, I have become accustomed to a no-spill pour rate.
The timer has worked flawlessly, though I usually grind freshies with the Bodum Bistro Electric Burr Coffee Grinder, Black in the am and don't utilize this function.
I recommend buying the proper filters, (in bulk here): Pk/100 x 12: Bunn Coffee & Tea Filters (BCF/100-B) Box contains 100 Filters.
Not much else to say about this thing. It's sexy, and serves up a bonafide cup of joe. Get yourself some good beans and this pot wont disappoint.
HORRIBLE, (What's this?) I used this machine twice and packed it up! The cups brewed is not true to the coffee pot size unless you drink coffee out of very small coffee cups. I brewed 4 cups of coffee for my husband and myself and we only got 1 cup each with about a half of cup left over in the pot. Our coffee cups are the typical cup sizes so I was surprised that we did not actually get 4 cups. Also, if there is a little bit of coffee left and you want to pour it into the cup, you have to undo the pot lid and pour the coffee from the top of the coffee pot because it would not come through the spout due to the plastic lining around the top of the pot which prevents it. The only positive thing about this machine is it does brew a hot cup of coffee but that can easily be fixed by zapping the coffee in the microwave.
Bunn lament, (What's this?) We bought our first Bunn in 1997 and loved it. Unfortunatley, it crapped out a year later. We chalked it up to lemon law of averages. We bought another, and it too, crapped out at about a year. We THEN bought a low profile Bunn, then another after the first bit the dust... At this point the reader must wonder why we stick with Bunn. We stick with the brand because the coffee tastes flippin' awesome! Still... Recently, we bought the HT Phase Brew despite the reviews that users experienced the "CLE" message soon after buying it. Well, we got the "CLE" message after only a half dozen uses. We called CS and were told they'd ship a new unit right away and send us a shipping label for our junk unit. The shipping label has arrived, but a week later we are still waiting for the new unit and are still buying coffee at the local brewery. The and gas bill is getting up there. I guess we could change our habits but that would preclude the need for a coffee maker altogether. Doggonit, I never thought I'd say this, but it's to the point where I would suggest a coffee maker other than Bunn. If you want a cup of Joe, you want a cup of Joe. Bunn used to be all about that, now, not so much I guess.
Don't buy this coffee maker, On the third press of the start button, the machine stopped working. I returned the Bunn for a Cuisinart which at least makes coffee.
Great product - untill it stops working, (What's this?) I have had 5 of these machines over the last year. They are fantastic for the first several months. The phase brew makes for great tasting coffee that stays hot for hours. however, all the 5 of the HT's I have owned died within a few months. They display "CLE" stating that they require cleaning, but wont allow you to do so. The water will not heat, so the machine cannot be cleaned. I contacted Bunn, and the representative stated " I wish I could guarantee that another HT would not have the same problem that you have been having. Short of testing another machine for you here in our engineering department for a length of time, there is no possible way for me to guarantee that you will not have another problem with another brewer since there are different circumstances for each location and machine." I had a Cuisinart as well as a Senseo that both worked for years without issue, so I am not sure what conditions exist in my kitchen that kill the HT machine. They offered a replacement of the same( number 6) or a different model in which I don't care for. I have always heard Bunn made quality machines, and I know that many models likely are, but not this one. Avoid at all costs.
Good Coffee, but slow, I purchased this based on the many (mixed) reviews online.

It makes very good coffee, not bitter. Works fine. Stylish.

I had no problem with the caraffe, so maybe I got a later version. The filter holder is very well designed. It has a small internal lip for the little bit of leftover coffee to drain to. Allows you to remove the filter holder and dump in the disposal without any small drops of coffee spilling from the holder.

Only real con, is how slow it is. Really is about a 12-15 minute process for 6-8 cup brew. A little noisy, but doesn't bother me.
Great so far, (What's this?) Strong coffee, not bitter.
Looking past the issues, I am currently on my third unit (and crossing my fingers it's the last) It seems as though I had the same problem as most others. However, I must say when working this brewer does make exceptional coffee and I love the design of the unit. So although I have had problems with them in the past I do recommend this coffee maker. Also - customer service couldn't have been more helpful and understanding with the exchange/replacement process.
good brewer, (What's this?) good brewer. makes the best tasting coffee i ever had. the picture on the brewer only shows the brewing cycle though; not enough reason to send it back.

Hamilton Beach 40870 10 Cup Electric Kettle - Stai Kitchen poor quality kettle

HB Electric Kettle-Good Kettle; Few Problems, (What's this?) This Hamilton Beach 10-Cup Electric KettleHamilton Beach 40870 10 Cup Electric Kettle - Stai Kitchenmakes piping-hot water very quickly, with a minimum of fuss and noise. It also has an easy-to-clean water filter, and is easy to use in general. I also like that it is stainless steel. Only problems are: It is really an EIGHT-CUP kettle, not a 10-cup, it's electric cord is way too short for convenience, and if you open the top with the button while the water is still hot, a few drops fly out and could burn you, or if water's already cold, just annoy you. This last shouldn't be a problem for the average tea/coffee maker, as there is no need to open the top in order to pour out water for tea/coffee. All in all, a very good kettle for every day use. It's also reasonably-priced.
Wonderful Kettle!, (What's this?) I bought this kettle because I drink a lot of tea during the day. It holds almost a gallon (1.7 liters, which about 58 ounces), and it heated cold, filtered water from my fridge in about a minute. I love the shape and the handle is big enough to get a good grip without being awkward. The pouring spout is wide but not so much so that it splashes water everywhere.
Stylish and easy to use, (What's this?) This water kettle is very good looking and easy to use. The opening is small and there is no way to fill it from the refrigerator water dispenser. If the top opened a little more it would be nicer. The little mesh strainer inside of the spout fell out within a week, but that's no biggie. Unless you are the size of a kindergardner you will not get your hand into the pot to wash it.
poor quality kettle, (What's this?) The Hamilton Beach 40870 10 Cup Electric Kettle is of poor quality. The spout has sharp edges on which one could cut oneself severely and the lid does not stay closed unless one slams it shut with a lot of force. The whole lid mechanism looks flimsy and fragile to me. Upon finding the lid not closing properly, I immediately returned the kettle for a refund. And the search for a good stainless steel water kettle continues...

    Edit 01/17/2012:
I have since ordered a KRUPS BW500, which should arrive sometime this week. I'll write a review on that one as soon as I get to use it.
Some people just have to find something to complain about..., What is this thing supposed to do? Boil water.
What DOES this thing do? BOIL WATER!

    Can't believe some people:
"I get splashed by hot water when I flip the lid open." Why would you want to flip the lid open?! Pour the hot water out of the spout, that's what it's there for!
"On switch is at the bottom." Poor baby.
"Only 1 red ON indicator light." Repeat, poor baby.
"My old kettle only took 5 minutes, this takes 7." Set your alarm clock to go off 2 minutes earlier in the AM.
"I liked my Braun, Tfal, etc. better." For $20 (at COSTCO), compared to what $50-60, you end up with exactly the same thing - HOT WATER.
"The outside gets hot." Should not have got the frost free model.
etc, etc, etc.... Some people just need to get a life.

My only complaint is while it will quickly fry an egg in the bottom, I have a devil of a time getting it out. Hamilton Beach should have provided a spatula that would fit down inside this thing. Still giving it 4 out of 5 stars.
keeps breaking, (What's this?) i bought two of these, one for home, one for work, and one broke on day 2, i returned it,the secnd one lasted 2 months, and i cant
return it any more... Get something else under ant circumstnces.
Dependable, large capacity electric kettle, We got this kettle to heat up water for tea without turning on the stove. We've had it for a year now, heating around a quart of water twice a day or so, and have had absolutely no problems.

The kettle works great. Pop open the top with the button on the handle, fill it, plop it onto the base, and flick the switch down. A few minutes later you hear a 'click' as the switch pops back up after the water boils. You also get used to the sound of water heating up, and can usually tell how much longer there is to go before it's ready.
The hot water tastes like rubber, It looks nice but water smells and taste like rubber. I thought the smell will go away after sometime but it still hasn't... Specially when I'm drinking tea it taste so horrible that I threw them away. I'm returning this one. Also, it's like some people mentioned this kettle only holds 7 cups NOT 10 cups.
Love this kettle!!!, I bought this item for a steal at Costco (around $20) and have used it every day since. It is simply designed and sturdy, with a simple thumb-switch to open the lid, and an up/down toggle to turn on or off (shuts off automatically when hot). My kids use it several times a day for tea or ramen or oatmeal. It heats very quickly, isn't too large to lift when full, and is easy to keep finger-print and goo-free. It easily boils water faster than my high BTU gas burner on my stove.

The cord is a bit short, if that is an issue for you, but I would recommend it to anyone who wants an effective, efficient electric kettle for a reasonable price.
Very good, until......, I bought this kettle at Costco (one of the few purchases I haven't made at Amazon) and it was perfect for about 18 months. I use it 3 to 5 times a day and during canning season I use it even more frequently to top off my hot water bath for jars. From the beginning, it would occassionally pop open when the water started to boil which prevents the auto shut off from working. Because it was so infrequent I didn't worry about it as I always stick around in the kitchen when using the appliance. However, now the lid will not stay shut at all so it makes the unit dangerous: much like leaving a conventional tea kettle heating on the stove. My husband took the lid off to see if he could fix it. After about an hour he said "go order a new kettle." So, it looks like I'm going to order a new one of these because it has had none of the issues that I've read in other reviews and I feel like a got my money's worth for 18 months of very heavy use.

Tea? Hot chocolate? Instant soup? If you have a taste for it, Hamilton Beach?? Kettles can have it ready in minutes. Incorporating the best of Good Thinking?, the powerful rapid-boil system provides fast heat-up from any standard outlet and the auto shut-off function helps keep kettles from boiling dry. Hamilton Beach?? Kettles are great looking and easy to use. Plus, most kettles include a 360-degree rotating or cordless base for easy serving. Hamilton Beach Kettles feature a stay-cool handle and drip-free spout that makes pouring easy.

Mr. Coffee CG12 12-Cup Switch Coffeemaker, White Difficult to clean

Difficult to clean, It is very hard to clean because of its design. Condensation always goes back when you open the lid, which causes gushing of hot water.
Not at all pleased, (What's this?) Only lasted less than a month, drips every where and only pumps half the water out. cheap but not worth spending any money. Always had good results with mr. coffee, but they have in my experiance gone down hill.
Not actually like it reads in the ad., (What's this?) I bought this coffee maker for the size and price. That's about all it is.
    1. When you pull the pot out while it is stil brewing, the auto stop often does not stop.
    2. Sometimes when you remove the decanter, it knocks into the auto stop button and causes water to spill out from the supposedly empty water compartment.
    3.
Works as expected, (What's this?) I only wanted a non-frills coffee maker at a decent price. This fits the bill perfectly. I've had no problems with dripping or over flows as some reviewers have noted. I would buy this again.
good little coffeemaker, (What's this?) I bought this specifically to be switch type and not shut off automatically because we use it to keep water hot for tea and cocoa.
    It performs this job admirably.
coffee mate, (What's this?) one of the best simple no worries about setting different settings makeing sure everthing is set ok.
DOES NOT HAVE PERMANENT FILTER, (What's this?) I picked this coffee maker over other brands because up in the "technical data" in Amazon's description it says in has a Permanent Filter. IT DOES NOT HAVE A PERMANENT FILTER. Otherwise it seems like a good "no frills" coffee maker. Some of the other reviews talked about the "cheap plastic" look. I really didn't care whether it looked cheap, but I was presantly surprised - in my opinion it doesn't have a cheap look at all (although if you are comparing it to stainless steel then yes it looks cheap).
    Didn't Work., (What's this?)
    Great Coffee,
Mr. Coffee machines have always provided me with tasty coffee at a great price. This machine is no different.

PROS... It accepts the cheap generic coffee filters. Larger spout means not having to raise the lid before pouring. No drips or spills. Makes fast, delicious coffee. Pause button. Simple to operate. One lighted on/off button. Nothing to program. No LCD screens to squint at in order to read and decipher. Larger opening in the glass pot makes for easy cleaning (dang those little four-cup brewers!)

CONS... only one. The overfill holes are drilled into the largest part of the fill chamber, right where you would normally pour in the water. I flooded my counter before I realized what was happening. I now pour the water into the narrowest part of the chamber... where the drilled holes should be. Stupid design.

Another reviewer encountered a cost differential between the black and white coffee maker. So did I. I opted for the cheaper white, but it shows coffee splatter. I solved this problem by using two filters instead of one. I moisten and fill the first filter with coffee grounds. I place a second filter over top of the grounds. I press the edges of the 2nd filter to the 1st to make it adhere. No coffee back-splash and coffee stain on the lid. The inside of the coffee maker stays clean.
Not what Mr Coffee used to be . . ., ***********************
Have had more than one Coffee maker in the last Two (2) years - This Mr Coffee unit is like all the other Coffee makers from China irregardless of brand or Cost - Just more junk from the Pacific Rim !

De'Longhi EN720.M Automatic Cappuccino, Latte and Espresso Machine with Capsule System MIlk frother lets it down

MIlk frother lets it down, I have just recently purchased this machine. I have had to play around with it to get a hot cappucino. At the moment I am using the lungo button and then pressing the milk button. The highest froth level gives the hottest milk. Unfortunately, if you want to make a latte or use the low froth option the coffee is not hot enough. It is a litte dissapointing as we paid more for this model to get a fully automatic machine. Perhaps we would have been better off with the Citiz. If anyone has any tips I would love to hear them.
Instant guilt, I purchased the Lattissima Premium, and regret it. Within the first month, the de-calcifying light came on twice, which means buying them the only way you can, in a two pack from Nespresso at $14 is irritating. It takes two or three pods to get a mug of coffee, so at .65 a pod, a cup of coffee runs 1.95. Just drinking three cups a day runs almost $6. I seemed to go through the pods so quickly that it felt every time I turned around, I had to order $100 or more worth of pods, plus the delivery charge which is $12.99 even though it said the charge would be $6.99. Does it make a good latte or cappuccino? Yes, it does - but I like my coffee with cream, not 2% or low fat milk, which is a requirement for their latte or cappuccino. An irritant is that the coffee does not come out of the despenser hot enough, so it has to be "nuked" for 30 seconds. Of course, you can't do this with a latte or cappuccino, which just aren't hot enough to enjoy fully. If two people are using this machine, plus guests who seem drawn to it like a magnet - this is not an inexpensive proposition.
Awesome!, (What's this?) Love love love my new Nespresso machine. It's sleek, easy to use, and always makes great coffee. It's a must buy.
Works great for cappucinos and lattes, (What's this?) We purchased this machine primarily to make cappuccinos and lattes. It is easy to use and consistently makes excellent drinks. We use bottled water for all of our coffee so we have not had to descale the maker. However, the machine comes with a water-hardness tester and the machine can be adjusted based upon water hardness. We did not have to use the tester or make any adjustments.

Having to order the coffee pods directly from Nespresso may be a problem for some users.
Lukewarm Beverages, (What's this?) I so wanted to love this machine. But I must have got a lemon. The beverages are just lukewarm. No way I could ever prepare tea with the "hot water." If it brewed hot beverages, it would be the gadget of my dreams. The features are fantastic and so that's why I gave it 3 stars. It will also look great in any kitchen.

  • Convenient illuminated control panel buttons allow you to choose your favorite drink with ease, with 2 milk and 2 coffee selections
  • Accommodates latte cups with the unique sliding drip tray
  • Patented "Single Touch" hot milk system. Simply slide the milk tank onto front of the machine. Clean button makes it easy to maintain.
  • Simply load the capsule into the machine and push the button. The machine automatically ejects the capsules after brewing is complete
  • Energy-saving with adjustable auto-off timer

Mr. Coffee BVMC-SJX33GT 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker, Chrome THE worst coffee maker ever !!

Mr. Coffee meets expectations., (What's this?) I bought the coffee maker based on the Consumer Reports review. I got it to match my other appliances and it does everything I want it to. It looks good, is easy to operate, brews quickly and beeps when brewing is complete which is nice. I have to slide it out from the cabinets to add coffee and water because of the height so make sure you have sufficient counter depth to slide it out if that is an issue.
THE worst coffee maker ever !!, (What's this?) I decided to purchase this coffee maker because our Cuisinart's carafe decided to spring a major leak and the coffee wasn't tasting so good any longer. Rather than replace the carafe, we decided on a new machine. Prior to this, we were using a BUNN but didn't care for the machine being on all the time to keep the water hot.

I read all of the reviews on this Mr. Coffee and figured that between us we could deal with all the design quirks. We also assumed that the manufacturer would have eliminated the burning rubber/plastic odor after so many complaints. What a mistake that was! You could smell it as soon as it came out of the box and it's definitely inherent in the plastic used in the unit. I cleaned it with vinegar numerous times, coffee maker cleaner, everything imaginable. Hot water, cold water and I even let everything "air out" by leaving the cover open and disassembling the components. Dishwashing didn't help at all. This was not a little odor but could recognized just walking into my kitchen.

Now to the coffee. It was absolutely horrible! The taste passed right through to the brew and no matter what we did, it was undrinkable. Now you've got to believe me when I say, this chemical or whatever it is simply can't be good for you! It's the same toxic smell you get from some foreign products....I think you know what I mean.

So, after a short time, I was getting ready to return and found that the box had already been disposed of. To end the ordeal, the machine was tossed out too. It was not worth the hassle for $39. Don't buy this machine....
Great coffee maker, (What's this?) I bought this mostly because Consumer Reports gave it a "Best Buy" review. It's one of the cheapest and works beautifully. One thing that surprised me is that there was a significant difference in the flavor of the coffee over our old Mr. Coffee that was wearing out. We usually use Yuban or a house coffee - nothing very expensive. Since we've had this new coffee maker, we use the "strong brew" option. Even though it has still been the same big can of coffee grounds, this brewed coffee is way better - much more flavor than we'd been getting.

The timer feature works perfectly, too. We're very pleased and I can't see any reason to buy a more expensive maker.
Makes great coffee., (What's this?) Product arrived in plenty of time for Christmas. It makes an excellent cup of coffee, and is a great improvement over our old machine. The only suggestion I'd make to Mr. Coffee would be to include a couple of paper filters so the new owner doesn't have to go to the store just to try out the new toy.
Mr. Coffee is the start of a great day, This coffeemaker is one of the best I've ever owned. It is simple to operate and looks real "fancy." Easy pour caraffe and auto timer are two important features. I highly recommend this coffeemaker.
LOVE it!, (What's this?) First off, my coffee tastes delicious! All of those features at this price, plus it looks great on my countertop...just can't beat it.

In regards to those comments about the smell...I didn't find it overwhelmingly powerful when I took it out of the box, but as a preventative measure I put it through three cycles before making my own coffee. First clear water, then water with vinegar, then light roast to get the vinegary taste and smell out. I don't really think this was a big deal at all. After this, my coffee is the best I've had in a while. I couldn't be happier.

I use it with the Mr. Coffee GTF2-1 Basket-Style Gold Tone Permanent Filter, which is easier to clean than to have to deal with filters. I highly recommend both these products.
Weak, watery and inconsistant, I have tried to get used to the coffee from this maker but it makes weak watery coffee that varies in flavor. I clean the maker after every use (without soap) so I know that can't be the problem. I much prefer the Cuisinart I have at another house that produces good strong coffee consistently. I picked up a french press and have since removed this coffee maker from the counter. Good riddance.
Mr. Coffee BVMC-SJX33GT - pretty good, some negatives, (What's this?) I've had this for about 10 days. It's taken a few cycles to "dial in" the right amount of water and coffee, but it seems to be working fine.
Nice, but...., I bought this coffee maker after reading all the good reviews. Yes, it makes good coffee, but.... it is *very* easy seat the basket the filter sits in, incorrectly. What then happens is that the water doesn't drain down into the pot and you have a mess to clean up (once the water cools down).
Great coffeepot - not so great decanter, (What's this?) After reading the top rating from a nationally-recognized consumer's magazine, my wife and I did some checking around and really liked the looks of this Mr. Coffee maker. My wife really likes a piping hot cup of coffee and always had to put her cup in the microwave right away with all of our previous makers. When she read that this one really produced some of the hottest coffee, she was pretty much already sold, and since the machine also looked really nice, we decided to get one for ourselves for Christmas.

It fulfilled all of the glowing remarks that we had read - but, unfortunately, it also lived up to the often complaint of really messy pouring anything from the decanter (either water or coffee). Sometimes it pours very nicely, but then it will dribble - or even pour - the liquid all around the pot or the cup. I would think that, after all the years of making coffee decanters, that having the liquid pour out neatly would be a piece of cake. But not with this coffee maker.
