Do Not Buy!!!!, This coffee maker is terrible! The pot is poorly engineered and can not be poured with out at least some (and usually a lot) of spillage. The maker itself isn't so bad, the programing function works properly and the coffee is decent minus a few undissolved graduals in each pot.
Think before buying this item, (What's this?) Do not buy this coffeemaker if you do not like carafes that cannot be poured without spilling around the pour spout and dribbling down the outside of the carafe onto the countertop. It is almost impossible to pour with out spilling no matter how careful one is on the method of pouring. We had no problem with the crafe on the like model that we replaced and are replacing the new carafe with the old one which we still have and does not dribble.
Great coffee - easy clean, (What's this?) My wife and I both love this coffee maker. It makes far better coffee than my old one that it replaces, probably because it has a very steady drip flow. It is also very easy to clean and the plastic has a much slicker finish so it stays cleaner anyway. The flask handle has a very sturdy feel to it and fits the hand really well. The only downside is that the lid is a single piece that hinges at the back. This means you can't flip it completely up if it under a kitchen cabinet. I prefer it though, because it can be taken off easily for cleaning and makes the whole design simpler. I just pull the coffee machine to the front of the counter to add water, so no big deal really. I make more than a flask of coffee in one go. After taking the first two cups I add water. If you try this, watch out for the steam as you open the top because the drops of water on the lid will run down into the hot machine and turn to a blast of steam. Just hold the lid by the sides in that case. Five stars - I'd buy this agin in a shot.
It wears out much faster than expected., I've owned this coffee pot for 4 years come this Christmas.
The coffee machine began to leak water when it brewed this past Spring, 2006; you have the machine in small puddle of water.
For the 3-4 times/week it is used to make morning coffee, so it should not have worn out so quickly. Which leads me to believe it is a POORLY MADE CHEAP Coffee Maker.
For $50+ it cost, I'm very disappointed.
BEST AT ANY PRICE, The secret to good coffee is a clean coffee maker. This one is the only one I found where all the components can be cleaned. You can fit your hand into the water holding tank and clean it. The up flow tube and disperser are removable for cleaning. If you can't clean these components or worse can't even see how dirty they are, then you have no idea how disgusting your coffee maker is. It's only $24 elsewhere.
Simple Coffee Maker that Works, (What's this?) We recently purchased this unit to replace a 6-year old Mr. Coffee coffeemaker (earlier version of the same) that was still working but my wife cracked the pot.
This is a simple 12-cup coffee maker for those that do not want an expensive or fancy unit that uses K-cups, etc. I am not sure what all the complaints are about it. It make 12 cups of coffee, stays on for 2 hours, coffee is hot, the timer and clock work. The sneak-a-cup works as well as you could expect, a few drops will fall on the burner and quickly evaporate. The white plastic will most likely stain from coffee hitting it over the years as our earlier model did. This even happens with people's teeth so buyers should not expect plastic to stay bright white with coffee hitting it consistently.
We have had no issues and this has met our expectations for a $30 coffeemaker.
