Just My Cup of Tea!, (What's this?) What a wonderful product this is. Of course, the quality of your tea will ultimately determine your delight or lack thereof, but the simple pleasure of using this infuser heightens the experience. For one, it is brilliantly made.
Great, but careful, it can cut you, (What's this?) I've been using a tea infuser with larger holes which was fine when using large leaf teas like oolong or jasmine green tea, but started to drink tea that have other flavor mixes like those from teavana, and have much smaller bits that would get into the cup. Found this and it works great, I use the cup for a single serving or put the infuser in my pot opening and it will infuse the whole poll. The only warning is the edges of the rim.
Love the glass. The infuser holes are too big., (What's this?) The title sums it up. While I love the glass (although I'm positive it's only a matter of time till I break it), the infuser is not as useful.
The metal the infuser was constructed with is flimsy (bent it almost immediately), though that doesn't really bother me because I can bend it right back. The bigger problem is that the holes (while fairly small) are still too big. So far, the best tea infuser I've purchased has been the
bodum yo yo personal tea set with infuser, (What's this?) convinient for some of us that like loose tea.sturdy and just the right size.i highly recommend this product for people that they are always on the go but take the time to enjoy the pleasure of a cup of tea.
Very nice, (What's this?) Nice product. Looks great and functions well. Be careful not to let go of any metal teaspoon after stirring though as it seems the inside bottom is very thin glass. I broke a similar Bodum Pavana glass cup this way.
another fine Bodum product, (What's this?) Love the Bodum glasses, more for tea than for coffee (don't know why ...) so now I have one with a tea strainer.
Actually I wish the glass was a bit larger, because you always fill it to within 1/2 an inch of the rim and this is about 9 ounces. but that's just personal.
if you're ordering ONLY the glass, I'd suggest a larger one, like the 15 oz.
These things are quite fragile, so don't get reckless and put them in your dishwasher, etc. (even though they say you can do that).
Treated carefully, like fine china, it should be fine; although other reviewers have said it broke unexpectedly. but you never know what percentage of owners this is, and exactly the circumstances.
my friend has used her 2 glasses for over 6 months and they're just fine.
note: you can sometimes find these at much better prices in Bed, Bath, Beyond; especially using their coupons.
Makes Tea Fast And Easy, (What's this?) For gift giving, or a special treat for yourself, the Bodum YoYo Personal Tea Set is a great item for tea drinkers. It's so simple to use and makes great tasting tea. The special glass allows you to make the tea right in the glass and drink it right away. Handling the glass is safe and it doesn't burn your hands when you drink it because it's made from a special type of glass. For any kind of loose tea, this item works very well for great tasting tea.
Almost perfect, I purchased this over 3 years ago and have used it at work almost every day to brew Japanese green tea (sencha).
I love the fact that it's glass, since in the morning the light comes across my desk and lights up the tea. I've had no issue with breakage. In fact, I've always considered it very sturdy.
The only negative is that like others, I've found the infuser holes to be a little large and so they let through a lot more of the loose tea. This is particularly a problem with a tea like sencha. If that would be a problem for you, you might want to look at the Bodum Tea for One, which is the same set-up with a plastic strainer which has a finer mesh.
Great design, VERY FRAGILE, (What's this?)
Fragile Glass and Infuser has big holes, This thing looks great and I enjoy using the glass because it's well insulated and whatever you put in it looks cool. Unfortunately, after about a dozen uses, I've noticed that the upper edge has a crack in it. It's as if I hit it from the top with something. Maybe I bumped it with another cup or mug while I was hand washing it or something else. The crack looks to be internal, so it's still smooth and probably safe to drink from as long as I don't put my mouth on the cracked part. I have used this cup with beer, but have been afraid of freezing the cup before using it for that purpose. Mainly, it's because you can thermally shock the glass and I'm concerned that the curve portions can't take the stress. Also, if the cup is cold on the outside, it takes away the point of having something insulated.
The infuser is disappointing. It looks neat, but the holes are fairly large. I use nice whole leaves of green or white tea most of the time, so the dust that gets through is bearable, but when I use it to make ice tea, there is so much of the bits that fall through that I don't drink ice tea using a straw made with this infuser because of the sediment at the bottom. The best thing about this infuser is that it fits well into all the cups and mugs I've used because it tapers down at the bottom.
The lid is also something else that looks neat, but can be a sanitary hazard. It doesn't work well flipped over so when you place it like in the photo, it collects condensation, which means that when you put it on the table, that wet tea gets on your table. Even worse, if you want to reuse the lid before washing, you would want to make sure that the surface you'd place it on was clean to begin with. I tend to not use the lid as a lid and only as an infuser holder. It's also a little annoying to clean because of the sharp edge. It hasn't cut me yet, but it's tough to get a good hold on when I'm trying to clean it with elbow grease.
In the end, there are better tea infusers out there on Amazon like this one [...] (though this one doesn't fit well in smaller mugs/cups so you might want to try something like this instead [...] ) but I do like the cup. In spite of that crack, I will probably pick up another cup (sold separately, of course) and hope that it holds up better.

Bodum's modern and beautiful tea set includes the YoYo strainer, a 12-ounce Pavina double-wall glass, and a lid. The set allows one to brew loose-leaf tea directly in the glass. The double-wall design ensures the glass will keep beverages hotter longer, yet stay a comfortable temperature for holding. Measuring 4.6 inches long (11.7 cm), the tea strainer also fits with all Bodum double-wall mugs as well. The durable strainer is made from stainless steel while the Pavina glass is made from mouth-blown, heat-resistant borosilicate glass. Smartly and efficiently designed, the set has a dual-purpose lid. If placed upside-down onto the strainer, it keeps the water warm while the tea is brewing. If flipped after the brewing, the lid can be used as a saucer for the tea infuser. The see-through glass allows tea lovers to visually enjoy the rich colors their favorite teas offer. A hole on top of the infuser allows for easy storage by hanging, and all parts are dishwasher safe.
