Hamilton Beach 40911 2-Quart Electric Iced Tea Maker

Ice Tea maker, (What's this?)
I'm buying my second one!, (What's this?) I have had this iced tea maker for over 6 years. Over the past year I have used in several times a week. My original unit is still working properly, I just wanted a new one because the plastic pitcher is heavily stained. I also think the oblong shape of the pitcher is better for storing in the fridge.
Best tasing tea, (What's this?) I have had this maker now for several months and I am very happy with it. I am using Lipton loose leaf tea and what we do is use 3 table spoons of tea, run the suggested amount of water through and then add that same amount of water to run through for a second time (using same leaves), add sugar and water and just amazing tasting tea. It is much stronger than what we had been making and this pleases the whole family. It is quick and simple and CHEAP so no complaints there.

However, along the lines of cheap, I have to say that the pitcher cracked at the bottom of the handle after about 60 days of use. We called HB and they gave us a new pitcher. We had to pay $5 shipping which was kind of lame but it did get to me in 2 days. I was able to put some sealant on the little cracks and it makes an excellent backup pitcher so now I have two and that is quite handy.
Amazon/Hamilton Beach, (What's this?) Excellent product. I've had other electric tea makers but none were as convenient asthe Hamilton Beach. I would reccomend this one to all who ask.
Great Iced Tea!, (What's this?) We loved the first one, we bought another for the office. We've tried the Mr. Coffee iced tea maker, and it is more trouble than it's worth. The Hamilton Beach Iced Tea maker is very easy to use and makes great iced tea. Trick we've learned: Use 2 of the large tea bags, flatten them out evenly in the top filter, add water to hopper area. When it finishes with the first batch of water, fill the hopper again. We usually add water until the level in the pitcher reaches the filter. If you go by the instructions in the package, the tea will be weak and you'll go thru a ton of ice and tea bags.
Couldn't think of a way to improve, (What's this?) This little gadget has proven to be very handy and a very good design. I personally use two family size tea bags and 3/4 a cup of sugar to make my tasty sweet tea. It's just so easy to use and to clean. Highly recommended. I went years without tea b/c I didn't want to take the time to boil water on the stove. Now it's like "set it and forget it". I just put the sugar in before the tea cools too much and before I add 32oz of water. Would purchase again in a heartbeat.
Very easy to use - great little machine!, (What's this?)
Excellent Tea Maker, (What's this?) I bought this tea maker as a gift for someone that would always forget to take the teabags out of he water when he brewed tea. The design is fantastic - it holds the tea bags in the top reservoir, and the water drips slow enough that it has plenty of time to brew the tea on the way down. i used two family-sized tea bags when I was testing it out, on two different occasions, and the tea came out perfect! It stores easily, is easy to clean, and is clearly marked for water and ice levels.

I was nervous about this tea maker since several people seemed to have problems with leaking and flimsy parts. The parts are definitely plastic and breakable, but so far, everything fits together fine, nothing leaks, and he loves his new tea maker!

One note, don't push the power button while it's unplugged and then turn it on. The power button stays depressed. Did this on accident.
Quick and easy ice tea maker!, (What's this?) Awesome tea maker for the price. I like my tea freshly brewed and this tea maker does a great job doing that. Every batch that I've brewed so far (green tea, black tea, and oolong tea) have came out great. Three settings allows you to control how strong you'd like your tea, which brings me to a minor issue with the maker.

The drip rate is controlled by a rotatable knob. While this works, I feel that the first cup of water is "wasted" because it just drips right out before the tea leaves unfurl.
Iced tea maker search., (What's this?) I shopped all over town for an iced tea maker to give as a Christmas present. The stores advised me you could only purchase this item in the summer. Well I found it on Amazon and actually ordered two. I don't know why I waste my time and gas going to brick and morter stores.

Coffee drinkers have their automatic brewers, why shouldn’t tea drinkers? Ideal for family gatherings or summer picnics, this ingenious Hamilton Beach machine brews up a pitcher full of iced tea in less than ten minutes. After the pitcher is filled with ice cubes, tea (either loose or bags) is placed in the special paperless filter, and an adjustment for mild, medium, or strong brewing is selected. The lid snaps on. A receptacle slides out from underneath the heating unit which then holds the pitcher snugly in place. Water is added to the heating unit, the power button pushed, and the hot water drips through the tea filter into the pitcher of ice. When brewing is complete, the power automatically shuts off for safety.
